Month of Love Special Edition Photography and Video How Do I Get What I Want? |
"Many photographers consider their profession to be the ultimate art. A real professional in this industry is proud of his or her work product and will be able to capture the essence of your wedding day and the love emanating from you as a couple. As one experienced professional stated, "The image, the visual revelation, is only a small portion of the canvas. It is the 'fabric' to which the pigment of memory, emotion, awareness and reason are applied. In some respects it is the most abstract and yet meaningful of all artistic forms. For to be totally realized, the image must be accompanied by the memories and feelings concurrent with the image itself. It is in essence, an entirely unique and original art form to each individual who encounters it." (Aaronstadt Studios)." |

popular Bridal Magazine |
The time Husband-and-wife team Stephen Jones and Patrice Lampton spend carefully planning the wedding day with brides and grooms results in a level of attention to detail that has many of their brides sighing in relief and saying "Thank goodness you were there. Our day was perfect because of you" There is much more to documenting the perfect wedding than just showing up with a camera and taking pictures. No one knows this better than Stephen and Patrice. Experience has taught them that the best way to capture great images of happy and relaxed brides and grooms is to share their creative, technical and networking expertise, gained from shooting an average of 70 weddings per year. ( read more ) note: since this article was written we have 'scaled back' to approx 40 events per year |

An Article written for The Green Bride Guide As photographers we saw our industry as a major contributor of hazardous waste and very eco-unfriendly. We went digital nine years ago so that we could begin to change that. We also started using rechargeable batteries exclusively. We are not exactly sure of the difference we have made but a considering that during that time we have averaged 75.000 exposures a year (that's 58 weddings per year x 650 exposures x 2 photographers/cameras) , . . the simple math is that during the past nine years we have not put 18,750 rolls of film, 4,687 AA batteries and 1578 camera batteries into landfills, have not dumped 4,468 (1 pint per roll) gallons of toxic and corrosive chemicals used to process that film*, have made significant contributions to educating our peers and are always looking for more ways to 'green' our industry. *unfortunately many toxic chemicals are still used in the various 'printing' processes, unless you go 'ink-jet', and then we are talking about a whole different level of waste. (another discusion . . . another day). update / ink-jet cartridge waste We are not trying to 'toot-our-own-horn here' many people in the wedding photography industry have accomplished this and more. We just feel very strongly that a significant suggestion for going green is to find a digital photographer for your wedding who has excellent equipment, the knowledge to use it to it's best potential and uses rechargeable batteries. I have been a photojournalist and documentary photographer for thirty plus years and there is nothing done with film that cannot be done equally well with digital. Any photographer that tells you different is wrong in my opinion; they are either uneducated, using inadequate equipment or they need help (and education about) processing their files. |
